The Ascutney Mill Dam Company was located in Windsor, Windsor Co., Vt. The president of the company was Jonathan Hatch Hubbard (1768-1849), a lawyer. He was born in Tolland, Conn., on 7 May 1768, received an honorary degree from Dartmouth College in 1813, and was judge of the supreme court of Vermont for the years 1813 to 1815. Jonathan Hatch Hubbard was born on May 7, 1768 in Tolland, Connecticut, the second son of George and Thankful (Hatch) Hubbard. Hubbard was admitted to the bar in 1790 in Charlestown, N.H. and moved to Windsor, Vermont five years later to establish his law practice. He was elected to the U.S. House in 1808 and served a single term. Hubbard served as a Vermont Supreme Court Justice in 1813 and 1814. He also owned and operated the Mill Dam Company in Windsor.
